Pub hot bartender near me8/24/2023 Head to Happy Bar for soul, rock, and blues music from the good old days, as well as some Showa-era sounds to match the surroundings. Or wander over to Bar Plastic Model - an 80s and 90s bar with records, books, and all kinds of trinkets. Keep an eye out for Tachibana Clinic if you want a taste of medical macabre along with your drinks. With many of the buildings housing more than one bar, the steep staircases can lead to a completely different experience.īe it a hospital-themed bar, a failed S&M club, or grass-covered walls, you can find pretty much anything within Golden Gai, if you’re willing to explore. Made up of six alleys tightly packed with independent bars, half the experience is wandering through, with each small entrance completely individual - covered in stickers, pristine and painted, or aged and battered. Where to go in Golden Gai: Narrow down your narrow streets Pro tip: Bars in Golden Gai tend to open from about 8pm, so don’t head over too early or you’ll find empty streets and (too many) empty seats. With a similar vibe to nearby Omoide Yokochō (aka Piss Alley), but focusing on cocktails rather than yakitori, Golden Gai has been growing in popularity as visitors seek that elusive unpolished side of Tokyo (night) life. Frequented by celebrities, artists, and writers and home to myriad small bars and restaurants, each night is an adventure into the unknown and unexpected. Sadly, some people's manners go out the window when they have a drink. While surrounding areas have been developed and look like any other part of Tokyo, Shinjuku’s Golden Gai retains that now-rare post-war charm. The other thing that will always make you stand out to a bartender is being polite and respectful. READ NEXT: Do cheaper chicken nuggets taste better? It's actually one of his go-to drink orders on a night out, along with an Americano, which are both made with vermouth, a kind of fortified wine. Conde's favourite cocktails to order on a night out are martinis and Americanos. My absolute favourite would be a Martini," he says. "What I do like is when people order something uncommon. While he doesn't necessarily have a "least favourite" drink order, making the same basic spirit and mixer combos all night long can get dull. Problems arise when the ingredients aren't there and it's a busy night," he says. "Complicated orders are okay with me as long as I know how to execute the drink. It's usually more fun for him to whip up a unique or uncommon drink over yet another vodka, lime and soda on a Saturday night. My only complaints are that there isn't a spot on the ship for Gonky (the Gonk droid), and like I said before Hunter's face needs to be lighter. I'm guessing they made it small enough to be playable but big enough to fit the minifigures in it. (Personal I bought this set more for the minifigs.) Second, I think Lego designed the ship that way. First of all, to be blunt, why are buying a this set if you think its inaccurate. Some people are complaining about how the ship scale isn't accurate to the minifigures. The minifigures are awesome except I think Hunters face should be a bit lighter.
Goldfish aquarium 2 serial8/24/2023 After many tries I came up with the RGB menu you can see on the pictures or in the Nextion Project files. There was a step-back to UI design at this moment, as I had to figure out a clever way the user could schedule color transitions. After eliminating a few bugs in the communication protocol I got in control of the RGB LED strip. Initial tests got me pretty happy, for example the LED strip lit up at first test. To do this, I soldered a patch of RGB strip and a small aquarium pump to an aviation plug. Once this was ready, I could roll the first tests to figure out what is working and what isn’t. Next thing was to wire the Control box PCB together with the relay board, a 12V power supply, power outlets, H-bridge drivers, and aviation sockets. A handshaking mechanism and some message CRC firmware bits are already on the way. This communication protocol is – at the moment – maybe a bit too simple. I thought that having the same processor and the same Radio chip will help speeding up software development this way the radio control code can be exactly the same on both the Main unit and the Control box PCB! After the radio link was up (and boy, did this take me some time.) I worked out a simple communication protocol so the two units can talk. The two most important similarities are related to the main MCU and the Radio board. To be honest, this may be due to the fact that there are many similarities between the two projects. I tested the code I wrote before “blind”, and after maybe 5 small changes and typos in the code, the PCB was considered to be OK. Incredibly, this PCB was fully functional after assembly. Wiring diagrams, PCB symbols, and UI interface objects were all made with help from tutorials and existing SVGs.Īs soon as the Main unit got a working user interface, I started thinking about the second sub-project: the Control Box. Inkscape was chosen for graphical design. I got help from another friend who had quite some experience in this, but since I was available for this project mostly on weekends or during the night I had to install a graphical design software so I can immediately edit pictures when I needed to. This required some amount of graphical design work, the pictures had to be of exact sizes, and Microsoft Paint simply wasn’t enough. It was this moment that I began using pictures as buttons and as other UI elements. After a couple weeks passed by with me trying to use standard toolbox items (buttons, textboxes, poorly rendered fonts) to create the UI, I realized that – no matter what I’d do – it’s just too rough and not one bit appealing. With the Main unit’s assembly approaching finalization, I started working on the LCD and the user interface. When the boards were ready, I sent the production files over to the guys from Elecrow – in about two and a half weeks I got them through DHL and began the assembly. I decided against making the PCB myself, as it grew a bit too complex for home etching. As I am writing this instructable there is still one PCB I have to design and build, I will try to make a speed-up video so you can see how schematic capture and PCB routing works in Altium. In two weeks I had the first draft of the schematic in Altium designer and began routing a PCB. As the requirements got to a somewhat final shape, I started building up the schematic and footprint library in Altium Designer with the components I knew I needed. When I read that using more than 75% of RAM can result in such instability, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make the main and control boards myself.Īfter multiple sessions of brainstorming and consultation, I began working on the draft of the Main Unit’s schematic – initially on paper. My antipathy towards the Arduino quickly resurfaced as the software started to become more and more unstable until the point where two consecutive flashings resulted in completely different behavior. We both believed that through his knowledge in fish, plants, aquariums and electronics, plus my knowledge in embedded systems, electronics and programming we can make a great gadget that can help aquarium enthusiasts spend more time with aspects they like most, leaving the lights, filter, skimmer and others to be switched automatically through a predefined schedule. The motivation came when a friend started talking about a small aquarium automation tool he built with Arduino. Narcolepsy with cataplexy medications8/24/2023 Foldvary-Schaefer expects that LXB, taken as a liquid in two separate doses at night, will replace the higher-sodium formulation because it is safer to use over the long term. However, because of its high sodium content, SXB may increase the risk for hypertension and could impact disorders such as obesity and diabetes, which are common comorbidities in patients with narcolepsy.ĭr. “Sodium oxybate has been designated as a standard of care for narcolepsy by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine,” she continues, “and it has been proven effective in managing these symptoms.” The drug is scheduled at a lower level than traditional stimulants such as amphetamines, which can have cardiovascular effects. “Patients need to be on medications for life to manage symptoms that impair QOL, productivity and social functioning,” Dr. Associated cataplexy, or sudden muscle weakening, affects about 70% of people with narcolepsy and typically presents in the teens or 20s. “Further, most patients have persistent symptoms despite optimized medical therapy.”Īlthough onset typically occurs in the second or third decade of life, a 13-year average delay in diagnosis means that clinicians may see patients with seemingly new-onset narcolepsy in their 40s and beyond. “Narcolepsy is a neurologic disorder affecting approximately 1 in 2,000 people in the U.S., and we believe it is grossly underdiagnosed,” says Dr. Patients were then randomized to receive placebo or LXB for a two-week randomized, double-blind withdrawal phase to assess QOL. The trial first ran for 12 weeks in an open-label, optimized treatment-and-titration phase, and then for two weeks in a stable-dose phase. The study mimicked real-world conditions in that patients who were taking traditional SXB were transitioned to the lower-sodium formulation, with the dose titrated based on efficacy and tolerability. The platform presentation was a follow-up to the recent publication in Sleep of primary efficacy and safety results of a phase 3 multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind withdrawal study of LXB in 134 adults with narcolepsy with cataplexy. QOL was measured with the 36-item Short Form Health Survey Version 2 (SF-36) and the 5-level EuroQol 5-Dimensions Self-Report Questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L). Looking at the code, I could see that there had been some effort in trying to do the correct thing by caching image references and then attaching one scroll event listener that looped through all parallax images. Don’t put scroll/resize event handlers inside a loop On scroll translate3d’s y value is updated for only the currently visible image ( creating a parallax effect). Inside a scroll event handler there is a “visibility” check, so that only one parallax image is visible when user scrolls. Each new div element has CSS transform: translate3d(0px, y, 0px) set, where y is the vertical position for parallax effect in pixels (e.g. On Javascript side jQuery is used to loop through those elements and read a data- attribute that holds a filename for an image.Įach parallax background image is then asynchronously loaded with Javascript by creating a new img element and setting the filename to its src attribute.Ĭreated image elements get appended to a new div element that is appended to the page. There are div elements on the page that all share the same. Let me try to explain the parallax scrolling technique that the website is using. * If you are not familiar with the timeline view in Chrome dev tools, take a look at the official documentation (helps to understand the images in this blog post). The bad thing is that there are three long, low FPS bars (< 30 FPS) in a row for each parallax image. Longer bars (that go above the 30 FPS mark) happen when a parallax background image gets shown. The y-axis of the image: green color of the bars indicate that the browser mostly spends time on doing “paint”: painting the content on user’s screen. The x-axis of the image: represents time, in this case something close to 5 seconds of scrolling. It is better that I explain what is going on here. This is the initial FPS recording of the website:* Obviously if you have things moving as you scroll, like in a parallax site, then you’re potentially damaging a large area, possibly across multiple layers, and this can result in a lot of expensive paint work.Ĭhrome’s developer tools help a lot when investigating problems like this, so I used Cmd + Opt + J ( Ctrl + Shift + J on Windows) to open dev tools on the page and went to “Timeline” and clicked “Frames”. By grouping things into layers we need only update that specific layer’s texture when something inside that specific layer has changed, and where we can we want to only paint and rasterize the part of a render layer’s texture that’s been damaged rather than the whole thing. …Whenever you scroll a page the browser will probably need to paint some of the pixels in those layers (sometimes called compositor layers). HTML5 rocks article called “Scrolling Performance” gives some explanation for low parallax scrolling FPS: It can be caused by almost anything related to your page: images, CSS or Javascript (or all of them). Finding out what is wrongįirst of all, what causes bad scrolling performance (low FPS)? Well, that is a tricky question. I’ll show you five fixes that give the website a nice performance boost. I was interested to see what I could do to increase performance by modifying the original code as little as possible. Why? Simply because it is a live website and they can change their parallax implementation at any moment, and that would probably distract people reading this blog post. I’m not going to link to that website or tell you its name. I suspected that there would be room for improvement in their parallax implementation, and I wanted to take a look to see if there was anything I could do to improve it. One thing that I immediately noticed was that the scrolling FPS of that page was really bad. I recently visited a parallax scrolling website that was just one of thousands of different parallax scrolling websites out there. Neon colors shirt8/24/2023 Advanced design programs (see our blog on free Photoshop alternatives!) allow you to switch between the RGB and CMYK color spaces. Most beginner or web design software supports only the RGB color space. Let’s go through them so you know what to look out for the next time you’re designing! Design color spacesĬMYK is the color space that’s used for printing designs. There are various factors that contribute to color inconsistencies. The designs on your screen won't always match the ones on your printed product 100%. Why printed colors look different from digital designs The RGB color space has a broader color gamut than CMYK, so you can lose colors (especially bright neons) when converting a design created in RGB to CMYK.Ģ.
